Someone just sent this to me. “Chase Jarvis has a Pre Production Canon 5d Mark III”.
Yeah, I guess that makes it true…
(guessing it’s the handy detective work of Dave @ Learning dSLR video).

hahahahaha awesome!
Very Hearty Laugh from Sydney, Australia.
Classic blog post that echos many people desire for a good “camera” or a good laugh.
Or a good camera at a good affordable price 🙂
Hey Chase,
I hope you don’t mind me stealing your Diet Coke! 🙂 Also I hope you don’t mind me using your video, I sent an email to you a few days ago asking for permission, I am glad you think it is fun enough to post here.
I wanted to learn After Effects and thought this was a fun project to try it on.
Been following you for a long time now – please keep sharing all you do!
Dave
Very cool and funny, nice job! (I also agree about who will soon get hands on the pre-production 5D Mark 3 😉 )
Glad to see Chase posting the video too. Good stuff at this site, even when it’s time for fun 🙂
I was just reading the latest Canon Rumors posts when this came up and the hair on the back of my neck stood on end. Fun reminder that I gotta keep lighthearted about this stuff.
Neat vid….lots of Mark III rumors floating around.
Please tell me the D800 will have 60fps and other video options. I have tons of Nikon lenses and I hate having to use a Canon just to shoot 60fps.
Frame rate isn’t the biggest concern. Proper downscaling is, with bitrate and rolling shutter after that.
Line-skipping just isn’t going to get it done. Canon’s recent announcements are baffling, in that their “cinema” camera only shoots HD from a 4K chip (and throws away half the color resolution with a shitty codec) but their new SLR shoots 4K (undoubtedly at pathetic bitrates).
