A lot of people offer to buy me coffee. It’s great. I love coffee and I love talking shop. Only hiccup is that there’s not enough hours in the day. Soooo… Join me for a cup of coffee (tea, beer, bourbon?) and let’s talk shop for 30 minutes via a Google Hangout on Tuesday August 5th. Here’s how.
Remember that contest I ran recently where the prize was a $500 from Adorama, 2 courses from CreativeLive and one-hour totally off-the-record conversation between me and the winner? Well, turns out that David Arthur was that winner and we’re talking on Tuesday August 5th. But here’s where you come in.
My private chat with David ends at 12noon Seattle time (3pm NYC, 20:00 London), but right at that time, I’ll kickoff a 30 minute public Google+ Hangout where you can join/follow the open conversation I’ll be having with you and whomever…taking any and all questions via Facebook, Twitter, carrier pigeon, smoke signal or however you can get ’em across the wire to me. Ask ’em day of…or can even ask them early in the comments below.
THE DETAILS
WHO: A worldwide chitchat via a Google+ Hangout
WHAT: Open Q&A that YOU can join or watch
WHEN: Tuesday, August 5th, NOON – 12:30 PM Seattle time (2:00 PM – 2:30 PM Central time)

NOTE: I’ve done a handful of On Air Hangouts before, BUT never pulled it together myself on the casual tip…so cut me a little slack if it ain’t pretty 😉 But I think I got this…
Any questions (about the process or that you want me to answer) leave ’em in the comments, or keep your eyes peeled on my social feeds for deets in the coming days.
I recently became a suggested user on Instagram, what would be the most effective way to turn those followers into clients?
Hi Chase,
Thanks for doing this, much appreciated! With all the cool new gear such as GoPros and quadcopters, I was curious how you would recommend approaching a now overwhelming number of options for demonstrating ones’ skills in the adventure sports industry.
A portfolio can now consist of so much, with photo, video, timelapse, FPV, etc. that it is tough to decide what to show. Is it best to make a video portfolio with a wide range of material, or have a very specific focus?
What kind of “package” do industry professionals look for right now, and how would you recommend getting in front of people that will hire you when you are new and looking for a challenge?
I come from fine art nature photography, but have so much adventure material that I would like to be pursuing…
Thanks again from Boulder, CO!
Hi Chase!
I’m a student in Hong Kong in my last year of secondary and I’m planning on either doing film or Photography in University (or Both)! You’re my favorite photographer (for real, not just saying that) and I was wondering what kind of things I should do in my portfolio that would stand out. I use a Canon 5D Mark III. Also it would be great if you could give me some tips or ‘words of wisdom’ that you find useful or helpful!
Thanks for your time
Justin
Will you be moving away from Aperture to Lightroom now that Apple has thrown in that towel? I am in the same situation and looking for options.
good question – will try to address.
You almost got to it, incredible talk none the less. Was this part of those questions you had ready to answer and will post later?
Hey Chase, I was wondering how you balance projects that are in different mediums.
Thanks,
Chris
