Alrighty. Regardless of the fact that this A or B series (here, here, and here) has been really interesting for us, helpful, and popular with you (the last such post received over 1000 comments in 24 hours)…
This time it is of even greater interest for us. You see, we’re doing some image editing around here and we’ve stumbled into a little internal debate about which one of these two images is actually better, A or B. [You might remember these shots from the Nikon D7000 campaign…]
Hearing from you will help really help us. No qualifiers, don’t worry about our objectives, or the “assignment”. We want to know which one of these shots you like better. And please tell us in the comments below, not via twitter. Raw preference. Period. If you can add some “why”, that would be nice too. Full 600 pixel wide images after the jump. Hit ‘continue reading’ below [and btw, I’ve got a $1 gentlemen’s bet riding with Erik about which one will win, so don’t let me down!]…
After you all weigh in, I’ll tell you which one I like, which one I thought you’d like, and why.

So which photo is better? A or B?
B yo!
Chase, I love photo A the best for sure! B is good but I am in love with A. It has a nice retro feel to it and the sky is not so blown out like in B. Whatever you did to get the lighting effect whether it is placement of lights or gels whatever, it just works really well in the communication of this image. I would say image A speaks the language of light eloquently while image B is using slang…
Thanks for the eye candy!
B.
A feels unnatural. The spotlight and shadow cast on the girl is very off putting. She’s also unpleasantly lit and seems to have tiny legs as a result of the angle it was shot at.
B feels a lot more like a snapshot from a road trip, but it really gives the feeling of a genuine adventure. I identify far more with B, and it really grabs my imagination in a way that the static pose and seemingly unnatural lighting of A never will.
So I say B, because it comes across as a genuine capture of a real moment, rather than a faked memory like in A.
Def B
Lighting is more balanced in the foreground and you get a sense of what’s
In the background without it being overpowering. IMO
B
it could be the B with the colors of the A
