150 of YOUR Favorite Blogs, and My NEW Favorite 9

Well, if you’re a regular here, you’ll know why I haven’t posted in more than a week – I’ve been buried in the great links you’ve sent over. Wow am I grateful for everyone’s time submitting their favorites. My plan was always to organize ’em, but I had no idea there would a)be so many and b)of such a high quality… So that said, I did chuck ’em into three categories: photography, design, and pop culture. There could have been more categories (music, science, tech, NSFW, etc), but I settled on three, because it felt right. It’s an amalgamation (and culling of duplicates) of 150 of links submitted as YOUR favorites. Remember, this is YOUR list. As promised, I visited every single one. Many were already on my list of my regulars, but lots were not. And I only had to chuck out a couple insincere links. Overall, I can’t thank you enough for the inspiration and the new reading material – and props for coming together as a community; this is a great resource.

Read to the bottom for my favorites and some more really cool link pools (And don’t forget, free Tshirts to those readers who recommended my fav NEW selections found at the bottom – you’ll need to ping me with your mailing address).

Okay now. I can’t string this out any longer. In exploring all these blogs, I learned a few things:

1. I like photoblogs. This is new for me. I used to not like them at all.
2. I’m a sucker for design blogs.
3. I like knowing what you like, and I like that it’s all over the map. Proof that we cat get inspired from so many sources.

Anyway, remember, many of the blogs you listed above are incredible, but they were already on my list of daily visits… This list below represents new discoveries–my new favorites of your suggestions. Thanks to this community I now get to enjoy:

If you’re the author of one of these blogs, thanks for the inspiration. Amazing stuff. If you suggested I read one of these blogs, feel free to ping me for a t-shirt.

Now since we’re on a roll, I figured what the hell: Here are a few more blogs that are on my list of regulars that weren’t mentioned above. Some are blow-your-mind cool, others are just some friend sites – either way, you might find a nugget in here:

If you want to fill your Google Reader or other RSS Aggregator with all these links from this community’s master list above, check back in 24 hours. I’ll tie all these up via OPML first thing in the morning.

UPDATE– OPML IS HERE: www.chasejarvis.com/google_reader.xml

NOW, THE WRAP UP. Lastly, and perhaps the coolest aspect of this whole dealio, is that this little My New Favorite Blog post from two weeks ago seems to have inspired a slew of photography-related link pools, site lists, and blog aggregates this past week from several other talented bloggers. A handful have done an amazing job. While I didn’t edit your lists on principle, these friends below went thru plenty of additional work to pare it down for you…so check ’em out too. It’s no surprise, they’re all on the list:

–Epic Edits Weblog has 87 Favorite Photo Blogs
–A Photo Editor has launched a new feature site that allows you to rank Photo Blogs and such
-Martin Gommel’s Kwerfeldein.de has posted 99 Photographer Portfolios
-My pal David Airey did a nice one for graphic design blogs too.

Have a great week.
