Olympus is Talking Shit About Your Camera Phone

Seems that a new guerrilla campaign by Olympus in Australia is talking shit about the “rubbish” photos from your camera phone.

“If you’re camera also sends text messages, that will explain why your photos are rubbish.”

Plaques in select Aussie cities bearing the above slogan have been pasted to the street and other urban environs, with the url GetARealCamera.com linking to Olympus. Personally, the message bugs me, but it’s pretty damn clever — made me look twice and type in the url. …

[thx @MarkMImage for the tip & sending in that image!]

    heyhey,

I`m looking for a little cam I can carry with me all the time… zackarias` blog post about the x100 is pretty impressive though.

Thank you Chase for promoting such great people, like Zack Arias and other photographers/ creative people.

First Scotts` blog entry (with a lot of time wasted for the bag in bag “gag”) with his olympus now you talk about this campaign.
    I recognize a pattern here 😉

I bet the next days/weeks we will hear more about them from you.

Maybe it`s your campaign… somehow the layout of the Plaque ant the Font reminds me of something…

What I find most interesting about all of this is the plaque. The balance is off, the font is boring, the smashed phone is annoying…They failed to even design a decent image in order to support their marketing.

Just more marketing ploy BS….as the first comment says…a good photographer can create great images with ANY camera…..because the best camera, is the one you have on you.
