Happy Monday. Today, retouching is out, rawness is in.
Photo of the day. Let me know what you think.

I like the light in this photo.
This is a fantastic snapshot! That being said, it seems a bold statement to declare that retouch is out and raw is in based on a snapshot. For me one of the defining characteristics of a snapshot is the raw unrefined quality of them. Are talking exclusively about snapshots of just today…?
Care to elaborate on the retouch is out part of the post.
I like these types of photos. And am a big fan of getting in touch with raw. Sometimes hard to do when all our photos are digital! I love the framing as well. Less “obvious” leaves more room for interpretation (i.e. less insulting to the viewer). Reminds me of a photo I took recently in South Africa!
Sometimes photography is overworked….Raw is good and is a great release of the pure essence of the photograph. The decisive moment raw.
Bunch of haters so far. Contrast this, composition that, at the end of the day it’s a great photo. I think we get caught up with things that are irrelevant. It’s imperfect, like life, like we all are. I don’t mind any of it; the cut off arm, the spot in the corner, it’s all part of what makes it unique. It’s representative of a moment in time, how can a moment be right or wrong? It just is.
He asked what we thought, and we’re giving him opinions. Don’t hate when people are judging what the artist has requested we criticize.
