Which Photo is Better A or B? [Sir Mix-A-Lot Album Cover]

A while back I had Grammy Award Winner, Sir Mix-A-lot on chasejarvisLIVE. The guy is smart – dropped some pretty serious knowledge on the show [here’s the re-watch if you missed it].

At the end of the show, I shot the cover for his upcoming album, live, online. Here are the results.

The lead one that shows his face is my fav, but there’s plenty of debate, because the other shot is tough and mysterious. I’ll resist the temptation to make any real case for one or the other, and I’ll let this is a straight up survey – which photo do you like better A (top) or B (bottom)? (please answer in the post, not via other social channels so we don’t have to chase your feedback – thx!)

Here is photo A:

Here is photo B:

So which is better??

Thanks for your input.

I never thought I will say this, but take out the girl in both pictures. Then both the pictures are stronger. The girl distracts you and is a little detached from the subject. And then I will say B. But with the girl, A. (Sorry I know you didn’t ask for critique. But maybe if she was sitting on the table.)

After watching Sir Mix-A-lot on chasejarvisLIVE, I’d have to say photo A. To me it its got more of the feel of what he was portraying. It’s kind of like he’s laying it out for you including a model portraying the ” I like big butts” from previous. Photo B kind of looks a little too abusive to his character for me. Looks as if he’s evil and she looks pissed like he just used her for her ass.

    then again that’s my opinion.

    Hope A wins

Photo A because he’s the main subject of the photo and not the girl.

    B, definitely

There are some unanswered questions here. What is this guy doing at the table, exactly? It has some paper and objects on it. Is it a desk? He has some wine. He likes wine. Is he a wine mercahnt? The lighting is very unnatural. He’s being lit from low down, to one side. Is it an open fireplace or something? OK so now who’s the girl? What is she doing? Why is she wearing a bikini? Is that open fire so hot? Maybe she is warming her derriere. If so warm, then why is he wearing a hat and coat, indoors, after dark? Maybe he has the flu. In picture B she sheems to have donned a fleecy jacket, and now has a glass of wine. Maybe there is a chilly draught in the room now and she needs to warm up a bit after all that standing around semi-naked, after dark, indoors.

Needlessly-misogynistic, worse-than-substandard faux-gangster cliche-ridden bullshit, Chase. You should know better.
