Whenever I give a talk or host a show, I’ve heard from this community time and again that one of the most valuable things is the Q&A wrap up. Straight up. You asking questions and me doing my best to answer them. And not just the “how’d you get started in photography” questions…. we’re talking the hard questions, landing clients, hiring staff, working with challenging clients, legal questions, gear questions, portfolio questions, whatever you can muster…
As such, we’re dedicating and entire 90 minute chasejarvisLIVE show to this topic this Wednesday. We will take some questions LIVE via the #cjlive or #AskChase hashtag on Twitter (follow @chasejarvis here) during the broadcast, however, so that we can be organized and get through as many questions as possible, please frame your questions below in the comments. Besides the simple answer of “network, network network” what are some tactics you’ve found useful for landing “big” clients?
yes. It is quite frustrating that after all the networking, great portfolio, loads of meetings & follow ups…nothing happens…

Using your hack on the lowepro flipside 400 aw will I be able to fit my 15″ macbook?
No way, not big enough. 13″ laptops are even pushing it…and that requires your to cut the inside to allow it to have more room to slide down.
How do you manage condensation and heat? I shoot destination vacations and always have issues shooting on beaches. The condensation, not only scares me, but fogs my lenses once i leave the hotel. Also, shooting video on a SLR on the beach in the heat often gives me a heat indicator on the lcd. I shoot with a Canon 60D
You may want to look into one of the higher end weather resisitant Canon’s for issues like this?
If you have time between leaving the hotel and getting to the beach try putting the camera (with lens attached) in a large ziploc bag with some of those silicon packets they put in shoe boxes. Keep it in the bag a few minutes until the camera body has a chance to warm up to the air temp. This will help keep moisture off the sensor. At least it works for me. No advice for the heat indicator. We don’t get that hot here in MA!

I know you have a staff, but prior to having your staff, how did you go about finding your crew? and what roles do you generally have when you are on a big production? this is for photography and film work, either or.
