Happy Monday. Today, retouching is out, rawness is in.
Photo of the day. Let me know what you think.

Definitely a photo that sucks you in and makes you look at every detail. Love it!
I like the pure rawness or spontaneity of the photo. I get the feeling of an unplanned image that works well as such. One might even consider it a decisive moment. I don’t get some people’s cliche comments. Maybe because i am not religious and do not think of or like religious imagery.
I have this motto whenever I’m asked about my work, and how “dirty” or “messy” it looks.. I tell them: I shoot humans not models, I tell real stories, not perfect ones. I’m fascinated by an image left unbrushed, or cloned or patched, or cleaned…. Those flecks and marks and blemishes are all part of the story of existence, otherwise they wouldn’t be there. This image does a great job of that, the stray bubbles and flecks, heavy film grain, the sense of unscripted liberation being bathed in water and sunlight. It’s almost cleansing, baptismal even.
Normally I would find it extremely hard to criticize your work but I find this is missing something. Neat idea and I can’t quite figure out how you got the shot but it’s not my taste.
Looks great! Love how the overexposed area contrasts with the shadows on the opposite side!
