For USA readers, yesterday was Thanksgiving – I spent the day with family, being thankful for so much. For the international readers, I hope you joined in yesterday, or perhaps will join me in some thankfulness today.
Front and center on my list of things to be thankful for are: health, family, and community. Health makes the whole thing possible; family–immediate and extended–gives me the daily dose of what love really means, as well as the strength to live a full life; and community–my friends, my amazing staff, co-collaborators, and you–make it all so exciting, rich, and inspirational beyond my wildest dreams. All these things are wonderful and worthwhile things to celebrate.
Within the always-humbling, sometimes-overwhelming presence that this community has in my life, I draw an immeasurable amount of inspiration and motivation. It’s continually shocking for those times when I receive your thanks or kind words, because in my head, our roles are reversed – I feel like the one who clearly derives the most benefit from your participation in this constantly growing community. Words here cannot extend a big enough thanks to you.
Let me take a moment to thank a small handful of friends, collaborators, organizations that have for some reason or another recently made an (another?) impression on me. This is not an exhaustive list, but rather a short one that is present for me at the moment. They are all, in some unexpected ways, not to be missed:

Lastly. If you feel inclined to, please share in the comments section below something you’re thankful for. Anything sincere–and this is not just for the USA folks. It might be a USA holiday, but gratitude is worldwide. I’ll select a handful of comments and send you a signed book or something else to show my thanks for your sharing.
Oh, and I always love this reminder: “Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.” – William Arthur Ward Have a great weekend.
I’m thankful that I was part of founding the Redlands Triathlon Club in 2010 and that over the year the club members have become a new and very special family that inspire me to be healthy, give me opportunities to take great sports photo’s and fill my life with love and friendship!
In an increasingly complicated world, I find myself being thankful for the simple things I’m blessed with:
– having a roof over my head
– never having to worry about where my next meal is coming from
– the opportunity to pursue friendships and chase dreams
– the ability to share life with family and friends
Happy Thankgiving!
Im thankful for family, friends, the birds in the sky, the world for being so beautiful, the people for being so special.
I’m thankful and truly blessed for having the vision as a photographer to see the beauty that other people may miss, this life is a finite thing and we should all enjoy every second of it, spend it with the people you love, doing the things you love, helping people discover they’re bliss.
These are the greatest words ever spoken: “follow your bliss” Joseph Campbell
Create, share, sustain 🙂
So thankful for my family and friends who make it possible to follow my dreams. Also, so grateful to fellow photographers, like you, who are so willing to share ideas, knowledge and inspiration! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!
This path, this journey as a photographer but more just as a person. My family, the strength they have and the never ending support they give me. My Partner Jo, all the inspiration and support she’s given me through thick and thin. My friends, both in photo land and out. And of course good health, it’s amazing when you think about the thousands of things that can go wrong with the body, yet here I am, able to stand on my own two feet. It’s pretty wild. This journey has been an incredible one, and I’m just getting started. I’m greatful for how easy it is to connect with people now, its crazy cause we curse technology some days but man when you get to thinking about it, how nice is it that we can just push a button on this beautiful square thing and have the whole world at our fingertips? All the answers and tech information? All the people and inspiration? It’s absolutely amazing! Here I am sitting in Portland Maine, commenting on a blog from someone clear across the country! It’s mind boggleing!
Even the random people we meet. They are so amazing, and its crazy to think about how a single hello can change your life, I met a friend of mine snowboarding, I just went up and said hello. He introduced me to a school that changed my life and continues to be one of my best friends this very day. I’m greatful for those hello’s. There’s soo much to be greatful for. I am blessed to have soooo much to be thankful for!!
