Alrighty. Regardless of the fact that this A or B series (here, here, and here) has been really interesting for us, helpful, and popular with you (the last such post received over 1000 comments in 24 hours)…
This time it is of even greater interest for us. You see, we’re doing some image editing around here and we’ve stumbled into a little internal debate about which one of these two images is actually better, A or B. [You might remember these shots from the Nikon D7000 campaign…]
Hearing from you will help really help us. No qualifiers, don’t worry about our objectives, or the “assignment”. We want to know which one of these shots you like better. And please tell us in the comments below, not via twitter. Raw preference. Period. If you can add some “why”, that would be nice too. Full 600 pixel wide images after the jump. So which photo is better? A or B?
B
Because it focuses my attention on the model. The colour of the van pops as a nice background element and the model has a great pose. I wish her hand wasn’t cut off though.
It’s “B” for me. Something about the position of Lindsey in contrast to the car and other subject works for me. It doesn’t even distract me but seems to tell a story. And above al, I just it best. She looks edgy and I feel a vibe and a story coming from the image.
B. – I find A too artificial, I don’t quite like the light on her!

Prefiero la B porque a pesar de que en la foto A el contexto esta más explícito, en la B los sujetos de la camioneta (mucho más presentes en la foto B que en la A) me obligan a buscar qué es lo que miran e inmediatamente veo las turbinas, están allí. la modelo me transmite una sensación de rebeldia y me dice que aunque esta en el desierto prefiere ir a buscar algo más, en lugar de contemplar el paisaje junto a sus compañeros de viaje, aunque tal vez solo se aleje por un momento despues de una discusión… bueno la cosa es que a mi manera de ver la foto B te involucra mucho más en el discurso y te obliga a indagar en la situación en lugar de pensar en la tensión de la pose de la modelo, la cantidad de turbinas de viento o cosas asi.

A reminds me of being challenged by obstinate teenagers. B makes me feel like I’ve found where the cool kids hang out.
