Alrighty. Regardless of the fact that this A or B series (here, here, and here) has been really interesting for us, helpful, and popular with you (the last such post received over 1000 comments in 24 hours)…
This time it is of even greater interest for us. You see, we’re doing some image editing around here and we’ve stumbled into a little internal debate about which one of these two images is actually better, A or B. [You might remember these shots from the Nikon D7000 campaign…]
Hearing from you will help really help us. No qualifiers, don’t worry about our objectives, or the “assignment”. We want to know which one of these shots you like better. And please tell us in the comments below, not via twitter. Raw preference. Period. If you can add some “why”, that would be nice too. Full 600 pixel wide images after the jump. Hit ‘continue reading’ below [and btw, I’ve got a $1 gentlemen’s bet riding with Erik about which one will win, so don’t let me down!]…
After you all weigh in, I’ll tell you which one I like, which one I thought you’d like, and why.

So which photo is better? A or B?

Well, I like B better, but with a number of caveats.
In “A”, I like the wind turbines and I like the color treatment, although maybe a bit subtler would be better. The model’s pose doesn’t do much for me, her feet cut off awkwardly and the boots seem like clod-hoppers.
“B” is cleaner but I’d love to see it with a hint of the color treatment from A.
And if there is another in the serries that was “B”-like but included a hint of wind-turnbines, you’d really have something therre.
These are fun. Thanks Chase. It feels weird to critique someone of your caliber, but since you asked……
I like the story told by “B” better. You can see, almost anticipate, the motion of her leaving frustrated from the adventure with her former ‘road trippers’. “A” has a more high fashion/trendy feel. Had her shoes not been clipped, I think this would have worked in showing of the statement of her clothes.
Billy bets on B.
B is best. B, you’re talking. A, you’re lighting.
as a novice(but very creative individual), I can tell you that I like B much better than A.
I think the harsh shadow in A messed it up for me..
=)
Definetely B. It has more movement and the model really pops out from the sun shine in the back. There is also more light on the van and the guys there are clear. I love the overexposure.
