Alrighty. Regardless of the fact that this A or B series (here, here, and here) has been really interesting for us, helpful, and popular with you (the last such post received over 1000 comments in 24 hours)…
This time it is of even greater interest for us. You see, we’re doing some image editing around here and we’ve stumbled into a little internal debate about which one of these two images is actually better, A or B. [You might remember these shots from the Nikon D7000 campaign…]
Hearing from you will help really help us. No qualifiers, don’t worry about our objectives, or the “assignment”. We want to know which one of these shots you like better. And please tell us in the comments below, not via twitter. Raw preference. Period. If you can add some “why”, that would be nice too. Full 600 pixel wide images after the jump. Hit ‘continue reading’ below [and btw, I’ve got a $1 gentlemen’s bet riding with Erik about which one will win, so don’t let me down!]…
After you all weigh in, I’ll tell you which one I like, which one I thought you’d like, and why.

So which photo is better? A or B?

I’m drawn much more to B than A. There are bits of the composition I like about both (the more direct / central positioning of the model in A with the van and windmills flanking her is nice but B has more of a sense of movement… feels like she’s walking out of the frame). The strobing on A creates a look that I’m less drawn to though. Strobed images can definitely have a big impact, but in this case it makes me feel less connected to the photo. B feels much more “real” and I’m drawn to that personally.
Both the lighting and composition of each create images with distinctly different emotions… both good, but I prefer B.
I like ‘B’. ‘A’ feels like it is too much of pose. ‘B’ feels like it has more energy.
B.
The ambient color is nice in A but the posing feels very forced along with the much more obvious use of the strobe.
I’d like to see B a little more blown out out in the background. (Just to see how it looks). But I definitely like B better.
Different way but “B” is better.
B by a whisker.
Although I do prefer the more visible wind farm in A, the almost visible right eye, and I actually like the studio style lighting I don’t like the subject overlapping the guys behind her. Also prefer the brighter vehicle on B too.
