A while back I had Grammy Award Winner, Sir Mix-A-lot on chasejarvisLIVE. The guy is smart – dropped some pretty serious knowledge on the show [here’s the re-watch if you missed it].
At the end of the show, I shot the cover for his upcoming album, live, online. Here are the results.
The lead one that shows his face is my fav, but there’s plenty of debate, because the other shot is tough and mysterious. I’ll resist the temptation to make any real case for one or the other, and I’ll let this is a straight up survey – which photo do you like better A (top) or B (bottom)? (please answer in the post, not via other social channels so we don’t have to chase your feedback – thx!)
Thanks for your input.
||And if you missed it: Here’s the chasejarvisLIVE episode with Mix||

Photo A. It just screams Sir-Mix-A-Lot. I like the anonymity of the booty.
Better image? B – for the very reason that he’s just barely secondary to the woman, but the comp and those bad-ass eyes in B draw you right back to him anyway. A is just more conventional. We’ve been there, done that. And the headless booty in A is a little creepy. Give us B.
Which one makes the better album cover? Who knows. Let’s hear it!
B def, but something other than the girl = she needs to go or be cropped out.
A – I love the eye contact in it.
I must have been staring at these for a good 20 minutes before i realised the guys hands had moved! ;o)
Both good shots OFC, but a very different message coming out of both.
For me, A wins but thats based on it conveying more of Sir Mix’s persona. To my knowledge, he’s not a gangsta rapper or some hardcore pimp / pusher, so the agressive edge on B’s pose says the wrong thing about the subject. I could be wrong ofc, he might be a low down dirty MoFo :o) B would work for Dre, Eminem et al but for me, the I’s go to the A
