A while back I had Grammy Award Winner, Sir Mix-A-lot on chasejarvisLIVE. The guy is smart – dropped some pretty serious knowledge on the show [here’s the re-watch if you missed it].
At the end of the show, I shot the cover for his upcoming album, live, online. Here are the results.
The lead one that shows his face is my fav, but there’s plenty of debate, because the other shot is tough and mysterious. I’ll resist the temptation to make any real case for one or the other, and I’ll let this is a straight up survey – which photo do you like better A (top) or B (bottom)? (please answer in the post, not via other social channels so we don’t have to chase your feedback – thx!)
Thanks for your input.
||And if you missed it: Here’s the chasejarvisLIVE episode with Mix||

Strongly prefer A. The attempted drama in B (hiding his face behind a wineglass) strikes me as contrived/overwrought: I don’t buy it.
B
I feel like he is trying to show us something in A and I don’t have the slightest clue what. B presents you with the same feeling but it doesn’t matter because it is more mysterious.
definitely A
I like him in on photo A better and her on photo B.
Even though the lighting is quite aggressive, the face expression and gestuals are great on him on A. I think the symmetry is quite nice on photo B, but his hands are a bit over exposed and we have lost details, same for his face, only his eyes remains, unless you want to portrait him mean… (to me he does really mean on photo B).
As for her, I really thing that the fur is making a statement on photo B, not only that; we can actually see her head too. Her bikini bottom looks better on B, I though that on A she looked like she had a wireless microphone in there… lol
So, if it was my project, I would merge the shots in Photoshop.
Carelle
A for the girl and B for him. Mix ’em together?
