Why Creativity Is About To Radically Transform The World

Today I’m bringing you the audio version of a talk I gave at The Next Web conference in Amsterdam earlier this year on a topic that’s top of mind for many of us, which is the rise of AI and automation and the implications it may have for our careers – whether you’re a truck driver or a radiologist or a graphic designer, you’ve probably had a moment in the past year or two where you saw a news piece and asked yourself – “whoa – is a computer or a robot gonna put me out of a job?”

I get it, because I’ve had that moment myself and it was scary as hell. But – as I’ll explain in detail in the talk – I believe that while there are many valid concerns about how technology will change our lives, it’s ultimately a tremendous opportunity for humanity – one that can and will unlock a tidal wave of creativity IF we as a species can make a few small adjustments to our thinking.

So if, like so many of us, you’ve wondered if a robot or an algorithm is going to take your job, this talk is for you – and hopefully by the end of it, you’ll be as optimistic about the future as I am.

Enjoy!

The show's logo is displayed on the left side, with "THE CHASE JARVIS LIVE" in bold black text inside yellow rectangles, stacked vertically. The right side of the image features a robotic figure, resembling a humanoid robot, meticulously working on a canvas. The robot is painting or drawing a grayscale portrait of a human-like figure. The robot's detailed mechanical components are visible, and the scene evokes themes of artificial intelligence, creativity, and technology. The background is minimal, allowing focus on the robot and its artwork. The composition suggests an exploration of AI's role in creative processes.
