Wouldn’t it be great to know that you just instilled a wealth of knowledge into the mind of a 19 year old? I think that it would be. Originally from the Bay Area, most of my formative years were spent in Tokyo, Japan. My time in Tokyo taught me how to be an independent young woman and gave me time to grow intellectually and creatively. It was also during this time that I found a great interest in both photography and entrepreneurship. The way in which your photographs highlight the simplicity in nature and the complexities that make up a human being truly inspired my decision to attend film school. As a current student studying film in Southern California, there is also a great deal that I have learned from the entrepreneurs of Silicon Valley. To say that I admire Tim Ferriss would be an understatement. In “The Four Hour Chef,” Tim Ferriss speaks about the Oberoi Grand Hotel in Kolkata, India who hire young employees with this thinking in mind “You can’t bend mature bamboo. But if you get it as a young shoot, you can bend it, mild it.” Ferriss additionally writes “Age doesn’t matter; an open mind does.” I believe that I am that young shoot and attending this event would be a fantastic opportunity for me to learn from the best. How many 19 year old students would want to attend an event full of Silicon Valley’s top entrepreneurs on their own accord.

If that doesn’t convince you, just think about how much you’d be saving on airfare when you don’t have to fly me in because I live in the Bay Area.

    Cheers

Knowing you have way too many of these to read I’ll be direct.
I would be honored to participate because:
    1. I love to learn from minds that challenge each other and strive to do something with meaning
    2. I love to dream and by all means would love to dream with this line up
    3. I want to use my strengths and career experiences to create jobs and improve people’s lives. I believe there is always a better / different way to build businesses and I want to create a company that does just this. I believe this experience will help me achieve this goal and would be very grateful to be chosen.

My name is Nathan Cadieux. I’m a 27yrs old and live in San Diego. I work in real estate development but have a desire to launch a new business model that bridges the gap between the retail shopping experience and the convenience of E-Commerce.

Thank you for your generous offer and your willingness to support and collaborate with others.

Why? To learn and to be inspired.

I think this would be a great opportunity for me and my buddy Rob. Great to learn insights from some of the greats and to here their thoughts in person. What better way to learn than in a round table type discussion.

Why pick me? Because I’m a pinwheel of positivity, determination and innovation despite going through a tough time lately.

How tough? Suffice to say, “I Will Survive” has become a personal anthem and I’ll tell you more on Thursday if you wish.

What I took from it all is the determination that my life will be like one of those tornados that levels a town without hurting anyone- it ends up doing $100 Million in improvements by wiping out the old and making room for the new (and more energy efficient).

To that end, during this time, I’ve also been working on my great startup idea- and it’s a great one that meets a need, has a clear path to profitability and provides a great social benefit as well in the field of healthcare and technology while allowing me to leverage my natural strengths and experiences.

After learning a lot of lessons with my first startup, I realize that what I need is an entrepreneur community to help along the way as well as knowledgeable mentors. My business degrees were less useful than I’d hoped that they might be in this endeavor. Mentors are not as common in my area (smaller town in the midwest) as I would like despite continuing to seek them out. With tech, SV is but a Skype away. Even better, I’m a connector by nature and my broad and active connections on social media and beyond would allow my experience to produce virtuous waves of interconnection and synergy through communities that your attendees are unlikely to yet touch- especially communities of women.

Next, my area of expertise is HR which would bring a unique set of experiences (F100 HR) and knowledge to add to those in non-profit and government workplaces that most would not have. I’ve been a minion, a consultant, and a manager- roles that are all important to understand how to engage and maximize. People are the ultimate “secret sauce” and I get that.

Finally, I’m a woman who is comfortable participating with, accepting input from and openly contributing in the company of both men and women, even in the company of those whom I admire greatly A strong, optimistic, pragmatic, network-connecting female presence with unique knowledge bases would add valuable inputs to others’ projects and networks while, I’m certain, helping me to build my own idea and sphere of engagement.
