I'm a huge fan of the work of a friend of mine, photographer Chris Jordan. His work is both subtle and bold, timely and timeless. Among other things, it beautifully (albeit tragically) explores human consumerism/consumption and the resulting detriments to the planet. I've watched this vid a half dozen times since it came out a while back. I never tire of it. If you missed it when it first dropped --OR, hell, even if you've seen it before--please saddle up here for 5 min and enjoy the unique power of photography. Whenever I give a talk or host a show, my fav part is the Q&A. Rather than me guessing what I should share, you just ask away. Especially the hard questions that you can't learn in photography books: landing clients, overcoming failures, working with challenging clients, legal, gear, portfolio questions, whatever it might be.
