Whenever I give a talk or host a show, I’ve heard from this community time and again that one of the most valuable things is the Q&A wrap up. Straight up. You asking questions and me doing my best to answer them. And not just the “how’d you get started in photography” questions…. we’re talking the hard questions, landing clients, hiring staff, working with challenging clients, legal questions, gear questions, portfolio questions, whatever you can muster…
As such, we’re dedicating and entire 90 minute chasejarvisLIVE show to this topic this Wednesday. We will take some questions LIVE via the #cjlive or #AskChase hashtag on Twitter (follow @chasejarvis here) during the broadcast, however, so that we can be organized and get through as many questions as possible, please frame your questions below in the comments. I got a people question :), well the question might be bit ambiguous, Q: If you are shooting a client who dont want their photos taken, whats the best way to deal with them?
I can understand that you try to talk to them and see, but I am talking about the case where the subject/client is not willing to put in his/her part into the shoot.

nice initiative with this open questioning. I´ll actually got load of questions for you but to keep it short and realistic I´m just going to ask you one.
Witch are the most important steps to take when you going from amateur to going pro. How did you score your first assignment and what happened after that? How important is the gear in these early stages on getting clients?

I am absolutely desperate to know how you got to where you are Chase. We all have to start somewhere, but where was that pivotal moment in your carrer that got you into doing massive add campaigns and traveling over the world. I know you were into Snowboard photography quite a bit earlier in the game but i just cant see how you get from there to where you are now. Please explain. =]

I’ve watched your workflow Q&A but one outstanding question I have is about how you manage your ProRes. Is that considered Live Work? Do you backup the raw H.264 files or the ProRes (or both)?
Do you guys do much AE/Motion work? It seems like that is in pretty high demand in the video market. How do you manage that?
Also, I know you shoot on RED as well. At the point you are at, I can’t imagine there is any serious financial reason that you are shooting on the much more affordable HDDSLRs, why do you choose to shoot on them over RED cameras or something similar?
