Happy Monday. Today, retouching is out, rawness is in.

More than the photography, i guess it was a great performance by the subject….its such a flawless landing on the water….hope he didnt hurt himself between the trials to get this perfect wings effect all around his body! 🙂
It is what it is. It’s perfect. It was captured the way it was meant to be captured. It’s art. That’s it. That’s all.
To me this seems very religious. You have the man in the middle with his arms and the water making a cross. On the right side you have the bright light (heaven) while on the left you have the dark side (Hell) It makes me think of an internal struggle that most of us go through. Really seems to make an impression..
You’ve cropped off his arm. Blown out the top right corner. Rule of thirds? Is this critically sharp? You probably should have used a Canon. 😉
Just kidding – I like it, the contrast, the dude’s expression, the (er…sorry) decisive moment etc. It’s an image to pause and look at, and the rawness or grittiness (or whatever you want to call it) adds to that. Kind of reminds me of some of Trente Parke’s underwater stuff – not only because it’s black and white and underwater, because it just looks cool.
