Public Service Announcement: May is Bike to Work Month

The Bike Fleet
\\\\\ UPDATE the mystery bike match game has been solved. Deb got them all right on this comment. /////

Howdy y’all, Dartanyon here. We normally don’t post much on the weekend, but I wanted to take a moment for an off-topic Sunday morning Public Service Announcement. May is bike to work [and school] month.  Around the studio we’re environmentally conscious, and have turned BTWM into sorta a big deal.  We join in on the ride challenge put on by our local bike club, and get a little competitive when it comes to who can rack up the most miles.

Consider this little PSA post my personal invitation to you, to hop on a bike an go for a ride.  You don’t need to commit to riding to work everyday in May [although that would be awesome].  You could just ride on National Bike to Work day on the 20th of May, or whatever works for you.

I got a laugh from our April Fools Day post where we all had switched out face parts. So in this spirit, I’ve whipped up a little “match game”, but this time it’s going to be a game of Match-The-Bike-To-The-Rider.  So, to see portraits of our lovely commuter steeds and match ’em to their riders, hit ‘continue reading’ below…

When I prepped this post only 7 of us had ridden our whips in so Norton and Megan missed out…)
So, for our crew, that leaves:

  1. Chase
  2. Dartanyon
  3. Scott
  4. Jerard
  5. Erik
  6. Mara [she’s new, say hi]
  7. Kate

Match those riders with these steeds:

2001 K2 Team ZED

2010 Trek XO2

1998 Cannondale Volvo Team CAAD3

1999 Rodriguez Stellar

If anyone matches the riders to their bikes, I’ll try to talk the bossman out of a signed book or something. We’ll track you down. Good luck with your guess and enjoy biking to work starting Monday. It’s good for you and good for the world.

[Lastly, if you’re a bike nerd too, let’s take this offline. Hit me up, I’m @dartanyon. on Twitter]

A melting white canvas on a wooden easel, with a clock face placed in the center. The clock hands are black and point outward from the center, but the white material seems to drip and melt off the edges of the canvas, pooling at the base. The background is gray, providing a stark contrast to the melting white substance. To the left of the canvas, yellow and black text reads: "The Chase Jarvis Live Show," with the words stacked vertically in a bold, modern font.
