A while back I had Grammy Award Winner, Sir Mix-A-lot on chasejarvisLIVE. The guy is smart – dropped some pretty serious knowledge on the show [here’s the re-watch if you missed it].
At the end of the show, I shot the cover for his upcoming album, live, online. Here are the results.
The lead one that shows his face is my fav, but there’s plenty of debate, because the other shot is tough and mysterious. I’ll resist the temptation to make any real case for one or the other, and I’ll let this is a straight up survey – which photo do you like better A (top) or B (bottom)? (please answer in the post, not via other social channels so we don’t have to chase your feedback – thx!)
Thanks for your input.

Girl from B in Photo A
A. it’s more alive, more vibrant, and has more of a sense of character. B is nice, and I love the moodiness of it, but for me there’s a little too much darkness, too much negative space, and I find that a little distracting.
“A” is too typical (although I love it!) “B” has more of a dramatic effect and really mysterious; make someone look twice! Too many artist (rappers in general) have that “A” looking album cover. Photograph “B” ALL DAY.
I just graduated from seattle central’s photography program, and the professors talk a lot about you’re work there! I personally like B because of the mysterious quality it has. It isn’t a typical rap album photograph, and you can tell it was taken by a very talented photographer who put a ton of thought into the image.
A most definitely has a ton of swag more than B. Mix-A-Lot ought to want a huge portrait of A hanging somewhere he entertains guest.
