Remember when I did the original chasejarvisLIVE photo shoot way back in winter? If you recall, I was shooting the album cover image for alt/punk country band Brent Amaker and the Rodeo. We also did post production and editing on the images LIVE as well a few weeks after the shoot. Well now it’s time to print these suckers on a limited edition run of vinyl and there is somewhat of a debate on which image is better.
Simply put, and with no further explanation, I thought I’d ask for your thoughts. So which is better, A or B?

I vote B.
Image A has a bunch of competing elements, while B has a focus on the lady and then the band. The band’s product is music, not the band’s faces…and I think the standing lady is edgier, sexier and more interesting. The lying lady looks like she is lying to “get out of the way”. Finally I like the large lady with the extra empty space around the band…enhances depth for me.
I vote A. The figures make a perfect half circle and it looks more like a room not a studio because less wall height is shown.
B. definitely !!
‘B’ for sure. The model is more dominant at first, but leads your eye into the rest of the band very well. The band also looks more natural in this one compared to the other.
I prefer B. Something just wasn’t “right” about A, not balanced or something perhaps…
