I was in Paris last week. Part work, but mostly fun. Eating, drinking, being merry, and of course, snapping photos my iPhone–as I do everyday–with no end goal beyond staying creatively engaged.
I was just now kicking through photos from the trip and stumbled on a couple of snapshots I thought were interesting for various reasons. I’ve posted stuff like this before and was really excited by the resulting discussion, so I figured I’d throw it out there again… These are of course just snapshots, but even snapshots have merit. AND these photos are VERY different from one another…. So, simply put, I thought I’d ask for your thoughts, which is better, A or B? And why?

Which is better and why?
I like Photo A better because of the dude lying on the ground (or is it more serious? We don’t know) by the intersection. It grabs your attention more.
That is a tough call. Each photo is great for it’s own reasons. It would be easier to say of both photos were lanscapes or if both were macros, but the perspective are different and the themes are different… the only thing that both have in common are lines.
A is a strong photo because of the story it tells. The man laying on the ground, presumably sleeping, but possibly dead, and everyone is walking around him, keeping a “safe” distance and nobody is going over to check on him. Speaking the inhumanity of the human species.
B is a strong photo because of the leading lines and the feeling of going somewhere. I espcially like the farris wheel cutting into the white space of the scene.
If I were to chose, I would chose A because of the strong story. Nice job with both photos, but A would the one I would find a use for.

Will add that though I like “A” more for the story feel to it I don’t like the couple sitting at the top with their heads cropped off. That said it is a snapshot image, but if there were a way to crop them out….

A. Definitely. Why is that man laying there I ask myself. So I just keep staring, wondering where exactly this photo is taken and if he’s in a street or just a square. It kept me more engaged.
