Why do you want to join me at the event?

I don’t have time for this right now, I’m too busy launching my latest company. I have important things to get done, I’m behind schedule and the list keeps getting bigger. You shouldn’t have even offered this. Your presenter list reads like the top row of my book shelf. It’s scary, I think that’s how you formed the lineup. I should put this off until I’m a raging success, right? OK, I know, I know – Ugh, I’ll work it late in case my name come up. UNBELIEVABLE

Because I am godamn sick and tired of doing the right thing the safe way my entire life. I need a challenge and some impetus to kick start a new phase of my life.

My adopted mission statement in life is ‘To help interesting people do interesting things’.

All of the experts listed are all one of the world’s most interesting people who have have changed the world and helped people better their lives and businesses. I would love to absorb their lessons and experiences and be able to do the same.

Running my own business and leaving the 9-5 workforce has been the ultimate goal for me. I’ve already been allowed to work my current position remotely, which allows me more time to work on my entrepreneurial endeavors. I’m looking to completely break the bonds of the rat race, and I need to surround myself with the best and brightest to expedite the process. I want to hack success.

My name is Christopher Baker, 23 years old.

I am heavily dyslexic, and have always found learning difficult. However, this has never stopped me from giving up. Even my parents did not believe I was bright enough to obtain a degree, however working hard in the classroom and on the sports field, I managed to obtain scholarship to North Carolina where I played college golf and study Business and Entrepreneurship for four years.

In those four years and learning principles from the 4 Hour Work Week, I managed to set up my own art business selling art of work around the world by the artist Banksy. Creative Live even helped me develop this business when I bought Lewis Howes “launching a business online” course on 12/02/2012. Not knowing exactly what I wanted to do after university. I realised, that I needed to surround myself with the right people – as I am a strong believer “you are the average of the five people you associate yourself the most”

I hustled my ass off for 3 months emailing every person, contact and professor I had, and realised that San Francisco was the place I needed to be. I spent hours and hours then trying to find a place/company to work for, and found an amazing company called The Monkey Inferno – Michael Birch company. I saw there tag line on angle “we dream up cool internet ideas and make them.” I had no idea even how to build a website. But I knew this place was for me.

I emailed and emailed them, hustled and hustled till the CEO called Shaan Puri, gave me an opportunity to prove myself as an Intern. I have been here three weeks and learning so much, but I feel I could do so much more and would love to meet the likes of Tim Ferris and Guy Kawasaki as they have had such a huge impact on my life. In the three weeks I have been here I have developed my latest project called loftrock.com (please feel free to check it out).

I realise you have two offices, one in San Fran and one in Seattle. If chosen I would fly to Seattle to make an opportunity like this happen, it would be nothing but a dream to make this happen. (or just catch a taxi if in San Fran!)

I am young and hungry, I realise and know I am not perfect or the smartest person, but I will never stop believing in myself to create something that makes a real difference. I just want to keep learning and developing as a person. And most of all prove all those people who said you cant go after your dreams.

Please do feel free to contact me if you have any more questions in the mean time,

    chris@monkeyinferno.com or gas.tower@hotmail.co.uk

    Best

    Chris
