I've always loved drones. Been flying them and using them in photo + film projects before the term "drone" was used to describe the thing... way back in fact when my friend Tabb Firschau built them from scratch just to fly his (and my) cameras around. Here's some shots, and here's a few others. Sort of sophomoric work on my part (5-10 years ago) relative to what's happening now, but cool nonetheless given the time... read more ›

Over the years I've kicked out a bunch of vids shooting from the skies on commercial gigs, like here, here, here and here for starters. But occasionally, on the heels of a commercial assignment based out of a particularly stunning location, I'll treat myself to some heli time shooting my ongoing aerial fine art project (personal work with dose of adventure). Finally had the... read more ›

VERY stoked to finally share some of my latest commercial director work that's playing all over your TV's here in the USA. It's the new 30 second broadcast TV spot for that great outdoor brand, REI. Remember all these posts back in March, chronicling the day by day shooting of a video-and-print campaign-all-in-one shoot?...working through some curveball weather challenges? Well, this spot here is one of the fruits of that labor. As you... read more ›
