Whenever I give a talk or host a show, I’ve heard from this community time and again that one of the most valuable things is the Q&A wrap up. Straight up. You asking questions and me doing my best to answer them. And not just the “how’d you get started in photography” questions…. we’re talking the hard questions, landing clients, hiring staff, working with challenging clients, legal questions, gear questions, portfolio questions, whatever you can muster…
As such, we’re dedicating and entire 90 minute chasejarvisLIVE show to this topic this Wednesday. We will take some questions LIVE via the #cjlive or #AskChase hashtag on Twitter (follow @chasejarvis here) during the broadcast, however, so that we can be organized and get through as many questions as possible, please frame your questions below in the comments. If you wanted to make great video would you choose a dslr or a dedicated video camera and why?
What was your first paid work? How did you get the job? Did you succeed? What was it? Did you feel nervous? Do you feel nervous now when you get a ?$$$$$$$ contract?

Nikon d300s or nikon d7000? Which can you personally recommend?
The D300s is better built. The D7000 has some improvements, but is considered a prosumer camera, whereas the D300s is more for a pro. Check out Thom Hogan’s website about the two cameras. He has a new review up on the D7000 also. Do a Google search on his name.

What organization would you donate working (film camera bodies, lenses, flash, cases) gear to in the Seattle area? Gear that’s useable, but only worth a few hundred bux, hopefully having more value in the hands of a kid or a student – looking for some place ‘younger’ than PCNW.
