God Save the Queen

Just wanted to break up the pace today and share a couple of links that I recently plucked from my inbox. Where it used to be just still images and portfolios that were sent my way by readers, it’s now often personal projects that engage a mixture of stills, moving images, and audio/music. And everyone knows I’m an advocate of personal projects… Without my intending, it seems that each of the three I posted below are from the Commonwealth – a Brit and a couple Canadians. God save the Queen.

This first piece is from a photo journalist mate o’ mine, Edmond Terakopian. Like so many great shorts films/videos these days, Edmond shot “Muse” with a video dSLR, in this case the Canon 5d. A moody piece about the solitude of London or any big city.

Two other projects–one epitomizing late summer nights as a young adult and the other about skateboarding–after the jump. Hit the ‘continue reading’ link below…

Multimedia from a project called We Are Sleeping Giants, by Brooks Reynolds. Reminds me of warm summer nights in high school and college.

And from skateboard photographer, Ryan Allan, this short-but-dreamy-vid likely conjures up warm fuzzy feelings in any photographer, regardless of genre, of a shoot gone well.

Thanks again for sending in your projects. Great to see photographers from all walks and all genres out shooting curious and interesting stuff, mixing media without pretense, and sharing it with the world.

It amazes me that perhaps below the chat that is sole is insurance policy that is subsidized, all about the lowest feasible price. Is everyone in the United States really that bad off? I retired at 58 and have not had healthinsurance since. Until I basically acquired a policy in 2014, I loathed everything about the ACA. An unsubsidized, $1031/month coverage that handles myself and my partner. First, I would have not had the opportunity to obtain a policy as a result of preexisting problems. Next, even if I had not been unable to acquire a coverage it would have probably been completely unaffordable and ineffective. Florida Blue in my situation, the the insurance provider as well as the policy, basically saved my life and did so without bankrupting me. So as to your concern, may the ACA be an integrated element of an early retirement approach the solution is a resounding yes. Not just does your quality of life be insured by it however it guarantees economic stability while in the long term. And if you-you have been in your late 50s or early 60s and you can not afford good health insurance for $1000/month and without blinking an eye produce the $5000 or $6000 overall out of pocket in case you have to, nicely, you have my compassion and you also possibly really should not be contemplating pension anyhow. Undoubtedly, now that I’ve protection, I cannot realize why this law is so adamantly hated by people.
