Remember when I did the original chasejarvisLIVE photo shoot way back in winter? If you recall, I was shooting the album cover image for alt/punk country band Brent Amaker and the Rodeo. We also did post production and editing on the images LIVE as well a few weeks after the shoot. Well now it’s time to print these suckers on a limited edition run of vinyl and there is somewhat of a debate on which image is better.
Simply put, and with no further explanation, I thought I’d ask for your thoughts. So which is better, A or B?

A
A is a more ‘complete’ scenario. The horizontal lady in the foreground frames the arched line of the band members in the background very well. It adds a more complex dynamic to the picture. B has dead space in the foreground (floor) and background (wall). Also, the standing woman in B breaks the cohesiveness of the band.
B is the more interesting and compelling photo, but unless the girl is the leader of the band, it perhaps gives her too much emphasis for a group album cover.
B. Most definitely B. seems soo much more even in terms of whats going on… as we all know the female form sells… given a choice .. id pick the package with more “form” on it
B. I think they both get your eye drawn to the band. But in A, the forground seems too empty and not very interesting, which brings the band down a bit. B has a much stronger all-round draw to it. You’re clearly draw to the band in the back, but also renforced by the interesting forground.
