Remember when I did the original chasejarvisLIVE photo shoot way back in winter? If you recall, I was shooting the album cover image for alt/punk country band Brent Amaker and the Rodeo. We also did post production and editing on the images LIVE as well a few weeks after the shoot. Well now it’s time to print these suckers on a limited edition run of vinyl and there is somewhat of a debate on which image is better.
Simply put, and with no further explanation, I thought I’d ask for your thoughts. So which is better, A or B?

I will choose Letter “A”
-its nicer to look at rather than “B” because of the woman standing..it kinda stole the the whole picture..and “A” is more appealing on a normal persons eye…
I think B is the more interesting photo. The man holding the woman looks more comfortable (and thus “cooler”). It makes me wonder a little, which is something I like to do with CD covers. It makes the band a little shadier — a little more intimidating. I don’t know a lot about copy, but it seems clear that it would be easier to fit in the important stuff on B.
It’s a CD cover, not a band photo. It doesn’t matter to me that the band isn’t the focus because they don’t need to be the focus. Most CD covers don’t feature the band at all, so why is it important that they be the focus here?

It feels more about the band. “B” just feels like the emphasis is on the women but she is way under exposed so it’s confusing. Plus I like how the band is staged and posed.
I like “B” – compositionally I find it more interesting in a linear manner with one girl standing in the forefront as opposed to both girls horizontally….
Looks like B is the best because of the woman in the foreground. Great rule of 3th. Gives space for text.
