Remember when I did the original chasejarvisLIVE photo shoot way back in winter? If you recall, I was shooting the album cover image for alt/punk country band Brent Amaker and the Rodeo. We also did post production and editing on the images LIVE as well a few weeks after the shoot. Well now it’s time to print these suckers on a limited edition run of vinyl and there is somewhat of a debate on which image is better.
Simply put, and with no further explanation, I thought I’d ask for your thoughts. So which is better, A or B?

A. About the action.
B. About the girl.
I prefer the A picture : the lightning is better, there’s more things going on, and the guy who’s carrying the girl makes more sens in the first picture than in the second.
Prefer A coz it tells a story and it’s more dramatic
the large standing lady on the B seems like splitting the picture into half, the dude on the right seems disconnected/isolated from the other member of the band (my 2 cents)

I think for a band cover, A would be my choice. While I do think B is a better photo competition and is more interesting, i think you lose focus on the band who should be the main subject of the cover. Unless you can tie the album name with B
i think A is more complete as ONE picture. the Lady laying in the front transports and intense the atmosphere of the whole picture. B is more interesting from the composition, but i would say it s too many ideas in it and it becomes distracting. So even i think B is more “interesting” i would say A is stronger in its idea and follows ONE idea more consequent!
