I was in Paris last week. Part work, but mostly fun. Eating, drinking, being merry, and of course, snapping photos my iPhone–as I do everyday–with no end goal beyond staying creatively engaged.
I was just now kicking through photos from the trip and stumbled on a couple of snapshots I thought were interesting for various reasons. I’ve posted stuff like this before and was really excited by the resulting discussion, so I figured I’d throw it out there again… These are of course just snapshots, but even snapshots have merit. AND these photos are VERY different from one another…. So, simply put, I thought I’d ask for your thoughts, which is better, A or B? And why?

Which is better and why?
I vote photo A. The point of view is much more interesting, and B is a bit muddy with not much interest.

I like B the most because of the composition, when looking at A I wasn’t drawn immediately to the subject (man laying) and the symmetry of B is just great!! Nevertheless both are great photos!!
Photo B is better in my pov 🙂
Photo A all the way! More dynamic, and leaves the viewer with the question: “What the heck is going on here?” I like the composition and the spacing of the walkers with the jarring juxtaposition of the sprawling man. I would prefer to have the people in the upper right corner cropped out, however.
Photo B is nice, but more static. Well seen and composed but it does not have the punch that the first one does.
Photo A. I like the composure of it better than B because B is too balanced. Although I do like the ferris wheel in the background of B. I also agree that I would like the people in the top right of A cropped out.

I like the symmetry in the frame which is then offset by the ferris wheel. It is just subtle enough to disrupt the symmetry but not enough to take it away.
To me, both images show some conceptual design elements that are disrupted by something in the frame, B is just a little more subtle in that and provides more room for interpretation.
