I was in Paris last week. Part work, but mostly fun. Eating, drinking, being merry, and of course, snapping photos my iPhone–as I do everyday–with no end goal beyond staying creatively engaged.
I was just now kicking through photos from the trip and stumbled on a couple of snapshots I thought were interesting for various reasons. I’ve posted stuff like this before and was really excited by the resulting discussion, so I figured I’d throw it out there again… These are of course just snapshots, but even snapshots have merit. AND these photos are VERY different from one another…. So, simply put, I thought I’d ask for your thoughts, which is better, A or B? And why?
Vote in the comments. Also love to know ‘why’ if you care to explain. 500 px wide images after the jump…

Here’s Photo A:

Here’s Photo B:
Which is better and why?

A is the one for me – it captures a real moment. I wonder what happened to the person lying down. Also the person passing is kind of looking or maybe ignoring the guy on the ground.
Comparing is kinda difficult as the images are tonally quite different. I would guess that more people will choose A just as an effect that the eye is drawn to light parts of images first. Interesting to see the outcome ..
ah, yes, subjective debate. If we’re simply talking my reaction to the image, then it’s A, hands down. Love the composition, texture and the unexpected bonus of dude laying flat on the walk. B has it’s merits too, but feels too snapshotty for my taste (i know you said they’re both snapshots, but I think A feels less so than B.) Thanks for being you, Chase. I love this stuff.
B is better. While I like the texture in A and the questions that arise from viewing it I find the symmetry and overall “hanging on a wall” appeal of B
I meant to say, I choose “B”. :o)
B is by far more interesting to me. I am drawn to the ferris wheel peeking from behind the building.
I like A, too, but having to choose, I choose A.
