This is an example of bold creative thinking in advertising. I wish more ads were like this. It's brilliant storytelling and just plain fun to watch. Enjoy your weekend.

I've been lucky enough to travel to a lot of far-flung places and I've seen my share of amazing things. But this hour-long event captured in the video above was one of the most beautiful, humbling and amazing things I have ever seen in my entire life. I was so dumb struck that I could hardly put the camera in front of my face to capture it... Last month my crew and I... read more ›

The weekend is here my friends [almost]. I'm resolved to go do something fun. Something creative. Something active. The videos below inspire all three actions. There has never been a more exciting time in the history to be a photographer. Technology in enabling accessibility (and usability) like never before. Hell, if you can imagine it, you can capture it. And you dont have to spend an arm and a leg to do it. Helmet cam... read more ›

Not long ago I stumbled upon the work of GMB Akash, a photographer from Bangladesh who has accrued a respectable trophy case of international awards for his work. He's won a handful of "firsts" for his people -- first Bangladeshi to win the Young Reporters Award from the Scope Photo Festival in Paris and get selected for the World Press Photo Joop Swart Masterclass in the Netherlands, for example. Dublin-based photographer Martin Marcisovsky captures subjects placed in distinctly dream-like landscapes. There is a feeling of voyeurism as you look at these lonely figures. The subjects seem to be either lost in their own contemplations or moving forward on some sort of mystery quest with their backs to the viewer. Lord of the Rings meets Dune with a dash of Salvador Dali - sometimes fantasy, sometimes sci-fi these surreal presentations of the deep corners of... read more ›

I had the Lumineers on the show back in April. They've been on my radar for a while, probably one of my favorites right now. As anticipated they brought down the house for our privileged in-studio audience. Since that time they have been lighting up stages all over the globe - including an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno in July. They are on their way to stardom and deserve every bit of... read more ›

As some of you might recall, I recently had the good fortune to work and travel on the African continent. Shooting in that area of the world is something that I've always wanted to do - and it did not disappoint. To the contrary, it opened up my understanding of the rich possibilities in the Sub-Sahara. We were there for almost two weeks and barely scratched the surface.... read more ›

Freckles on skin. The beauty of a clavicle, jutting through fragile epidermis. Long fingers clasped together. Skinned knees. Natural light, wafting across delicate features. The pure gorgeous intensity of being human - and Eric Rose somehow manages to catch them all with one well composed black and white photo. His photos have a sort of gritty dreaminess to them - you can't help but wonder about the eyes that peer back at you, the situation... read more ›

Before the last of the breweries closed its doors in 1976, Bushwick was known as the "beer capital of the Northeast." The collapse of the beer industry eroded the neighborhood's economic base, leaving a wealth of abandoned buildings. Click through the gallery tabs above to check it out some scouting shots. I caught up with a local friend, Amy Rollo, who lived in "Little Dominicana," for 3 years and had her fair share of fried... read more ›
