Remember when I did the original chasejarvisLIVE photo shoot way back in winter? If you recall, I was shooting the album cover image for alt/punk country band Brent Amaker and the Rodeo. We also did post production and editing on the images LIVE as well a few weeks after the shoot. Well now it’s time to print these suckers on a limited edition run of vinyl and there is somewhat of a debate on which image is better.
Simply put, and with no further explanation, I thought I’d ask for your thoughts. So which is better, A or B?

In terms of the image, I like A better… However, it’s more about the woman than the band… IMO, she becomes the “story” or narrative, not the band… Unless she’s the lead singer, I’d go with B… Tania does have a point about it being “dark”… kinda different for you… dig your stuff Chase!
I love A as an image, especially the dude in the back left corner… I’m like what is he looking at??? Everyone else is entranced by the camera and he’s got something way cooler going on in his hands. But then B would / may win as an album cover as there is more space for text in the top left corner. Both are awesome.

The girls arm in photo A around his shoulder looks funny
I vote for B as well. The two unidentifiable pictures hanging on the wall balanced by the two guys standing next to them, and the barely noticeable third woman on the right, give B the edge.
Chase,
I vote for “B” because I find more going on. In “A”, the guys appear more static, no activity…just posing, while in “B” they got some needed help from the ladies. In “A” you eye travels back and forth between the the chest of the lady lying prone and Brent standing and holding the passed out female. In “B”, I think the focus is on the guys and gals in the background, even with the shapely lady in the foreground more as as if she is framing the rest of the pix. And then you have motion with the guy lighting his cigarette.
I enjoyed the live shoot when you did this originally.
