I was in Paris last week. Part work, but mostly fun. Eating, drinking, being merry, and of course, snapping photos my iPhone–as I do everyday–with no end goal beyond staying creatively engaged.
I was just now kicking through photos from the trip and stumbled on a couple of snapshots I thought were interesting for various reasons. I’ve posted stuff like this before and was really excited by the resulting discussion, so I figured I’d throw it out there again… These are of course just snapshots, but even snapshots have merit. AND these photos are VERY different from one another…. So, simply put, I thought I’d ask for your thoughts, which is better, A or B? And why?
Vote in the comments. Also love to know ‘why’ if you care to explain. 500 px wide images after the jump…

Here’s Photo A:

Here’s Photo B:
Which is better and why?

image A… although the 2nd image pulls you in with the leading lines, my eyes are just as pulled to the gentleman lying on the ground – both because his position is juxtaposed with everyone walking around him and because i am intrigued by the scenario, why he’s there and the fact that everyone keeps about their day as they walk by him.
A. More questioning the viewer, Who are the people and why are they lying down. Why are the other people not interested? Love the pattens of the cobbles and slabs but it’s the people that are the real interest. Cracking image quite cinematic. The image conjures a story of spies and as assassins. Love it
I prefer A as I find it interesting to look at
My vote goes to A because, firstly i love the diagonal cross, the rule of thirds which in combination attracts the view directly to the subject ( the lying man). But what draws the most of my attention is that the whole picture tells a story, the people which just walk by the lying man with no intantion to help him. Also the colors are amazing everything is greyish except the jacket of the lying man, which is red.
I don’t like B that much because what is the main subject in the picture ? The houses draw the attention to directly to the middle of the picture but there is nothing interessting, except the half ferris wheel which doesn’t look that amazing in that light. The Hatch is also in the middel and all lines go to it, but again not that interessting.
But both pictures are good pictures the technic is okay and in both pictures are lines which draw the viewers attention to the middle of the picture also the rule of thirds is used in both pictures.
Thanks for sharing have a good time in Paris.
I’d say B. I don’t really like the POV in A. A may actually be a more interesting photo, but doesn’t work for me.
