Alrighty. Regardless of the fact that this A or B series (here, here, and here) has been really interesting for us, helpful, and popular with you (the last such post received over 1000 comments in 24 hours)…
This time it is of even greater interest for us. You see, we’re doing some image editing around here and we’ve stumbled into a little internal debate about which one of these two images is actually better, A or B. [You might remember these shots from the Nikon D7000 campaign…]
Hearing from you will help really help us. No qualifiers, don’t worry about our objectives, or the “assignment”. We want to know which one of these shots you like better. And please tell us in the comments below, not via twitter. Raw preference. Period. If you can add some “why”, that would be nice too. Full 600 pixel wide images after the jump. Hit ‘continue reading’ below [and btw, I’ve got a $1 gentlemen’s bet riding with Erik about which one will win, so don’t let me down!]…
After you all weigh in, I’ll tell you which one I like, which one I thought you’d like, and why.

So which photo is better? A or B?

B is better.. It has more attitude and tells more of a story.
Definitely B! It may be my monitor but the dark side of her face in A looks caved in. The composition is balanced in B and gives a sense of action/motion. Great image!
B definitely has the most punch. Best framed, best look from the model, tells more of the “story” by showing the guys at the van better. Overall, just intrigues and leads the viewer through.
A has the best colour, and would be punchy even down to smaller sizes than B could go to, but it just looks like a test shot to check lighting. It’d be interesting to see a version framed like B with the lighting of A. I don’t think that it’d have the impact of B though, simply because the bright sky contrasts well with the model’s hair/outfit etc.
I like A better because there is more of a story being told.
Gut, B, but depends on use.
For me, A is very “this is a photoshoot for my new album” and her hands look funny. B is a bit more “fly on the wall” and makes me think there is a story here so I go looking for it and find the photo interesting.
A is intentionally very posed and very lit so I see it as just that, a posed photo of a girl with some guys in the background.
