Which Photo Is Better: A or B ?

I was in Paris last week. Part work, but mostly fun. Eating, drinking, being merry, and of course, snapping photos my iPhone–as I do everyday–with no end goal beyond staying creatively engaged.

I was just now kicking through photos from the trip and stumbled on a couple of snapshots I thought were interesting for various reasons. I’ve posted stuff like this before and was really excited by the resulting discussion, so I figured I’d throw it out there again… These are of course just snapshots, but even snapshots have merit. AND these photos are VERY different from one another…. So, simply put, I thought I’d ask for your thoughts, which is better, A or B? And why?

Vote in the comments. Also love to know ‘why’ if you care to explain. 500 px wide images after the jump…

Neither or both. Without telling me what ‘better’ means, I cannot give my vote 🙂

I think “B” directs your eye clearly to the subject. “A” is a bit exhausting, I find myself looking all over like an “I Spy” photo. Just sayin’

I prefer B. While the composition is better on B, photo A has more weight for me. The subject is more engaging. It has a story, and you are left to decide what it may have been. You wonder why the guy is laying on the ground, what the bystanders thoughts are, and if someone will help him. There is an open-endedness to the photo. I love that!

I prefer photo A. I like the textures, the lines, the people, and the interesting subject. Photo B doesn’t have enough kick for me even with the ferris wheel in the background.

In my most humble opinion, I prefer A. Reason being that its more of a unique fine-angle-whatever. Reminds me of Joe McNally.”If you are shooting in places your allowed to be, your not doing your job”. B is cool but of the regular street level. A says I’m possibly on some secret ledge shooting these specific people.

Or Maybe I like that it looks like people are blatantly walking past some dead body lying on the ground.

Love the thought provoking dialogue. Cheers

    Braun
