Which Photo Is Better: A or B ?

I was in Paris last week. Part work, but mostly fun. Eating, drinking, being merry, and of course, snapping photos my iPhone–as I do everyday–with no end goal beyond staying creatively engaged.

I was just now kicking through photos from the trip and stumbled on a couple of snapshots I thought were interesting for various reasons. I’ve posted stuff like this before and was really excited by the resulting discussion, so I figured I’d throw it out there again… These are of course just snapshots, but even snapshots have merit. AND these photos are VERY different from one another…. So, simply put, I thought I’d ask for your thoughts, which is better, A or B? And why?

Vote in the comments. Also love to know ‘why’ if you care to explain. 500 px wide images after the jump…

I love the pattern on the ground in photo A, but I feel like photo B is more appealing to the common eye.

    B is my preference.
It seems an unconventional view of everyday life. You could encouter a street like this in almost any major city.
The sky wheel/ferris wheel gives it an unexpected edge, which made me snicker. It seems kind of in an odd place, yet it fits perfectly in this place in the picture.

I like Photo A …. photo b is nice but its almost like you can get such photo opportunity more than photo A.

I think A is better than B. Why? because In B, first of all – even if it´s black and white, I can see that´s a bit over exposed. I would have loved to see some clouds, or just… see something that makes me feel interest for the shot and create a story from that.
The A picture tells a story, my eyes go first to the big line, where I can see the man lying, while no one helps him, and nobody cares. That´s why I like A, and that´s the purpose of photography. To tell stories.

    I think, i like the A version.

Because it tells an open-ended story (which i don’t see in picture B). With images like A, i think viewers will be playing with their own minds “what goes around with the man?” “why other people ignoring this guy?” “what happens to the man after that?”
